JHS Teacher-of-the-Year
Mr. Alexander Velasquez

Mr. Velasquez has been elected as Teacher-of-the-Year
at JHS by his fellow teachers. He teaches Spanish I, II, III, and IV to students in grades nine through twelve. Velasquez graduated from UNIVERSIDAD PEDAGOGICA EXPERIMENTAL LIBERTADOR,
in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, in 2006. After graduation, he was hired at his Alma Mater for one year. At the end of that year, he took a teaching
position in Marshville, NC. He then went back to Venezuela and married his beautiful wife, Alejandra. They have a son, Samuel, and are expecting a second baby. Mr. Velasquez is planning to get a Master's degree in Communication and Education online, beginning in August 2015. He has taught at JHS for four years. He is happily married and a proud father.
